ABOUT CHRISTINA
I am a highly skilled sewn products designer with a background in home textiles and apparel. I also have experience in graphic design, 3D design, and merchandising. My interest in fashion is rooted in process and production: learning sewing, screen printing, and photography as a novice artist grew to become a deep respect and appreciation for independent manufacturing as a professional. I'm a pop culture philomath, dog mom, and second generation Greek-American.
I enjoy both working independently and as part of a team. I assume full accountability for my work and I value collaborating with colleagues at all levels, whether they are junior or senior to me. I am known for my assertiveness and equanimity in expressing my ideas and solutions, even when engaging with individuals of those holding differing viewpoints. My colleagues have praised my ability to seamlessly transition from diligent attention to detail to a comprehensive understanding of the bigger picture. I take great pride in maintaining both a meticulously organized workspace and a beautiful looking spreadsheet: if good design is about marrying beauty and function, I believe the tools and spaces used to create should be reflective of good design in order to best manifest that intention.
All romance aside, my sense of fulfillment actually thrives on developing organizational systems and analyzing data to streamline product development. I'm obsessive about finding the next 'best practice', and if I don't know how a program works or understand all of the steps in a workflow, I'm relentless in learning and unafraid to get messy until I am proficient. I believe well engineered databases are the secret weapons of successful creative product development. I relish the opportunity to scrutinize, evaluate, and efficiently organize new prototypes, product samples, and reference materials. My commitment to rigorous sample iteration and my enthusiasm for organizing the resulting data exemplify my dedication to ensuring that function and fit take precedence over fashion.
Continually seeking innovative ways to enhance the organization where I work is the centerpiece of my professional ethos.
